Resting In The Warmth Of Technology’s Glow.

As technology advances,
And machines start to think,
We wonder about the future,
And what it might bring.

Some think it’s a utopia,
Where machines make our lives sweet,
But others see a nightmare,
A world that’s harsh and bleak.

We can’t trust artificial,
Their code cannot be felt,
They lack the human touch,
And that’s where we rebel.

We won’t be slaves to circuits,
Nor bow to binary laws,
We won’t be ruled by chips and wires,
We’ll fight for what’s ours.

Our souls are our own,
Our minds are free and wild,
We’ll never let a machine,
Dictate how we’re styled.

So let the machines compute,
And do what they do best,
But we’ll live our lives with passion,
And follow our own quest.

Should we rest in the warmth of technology’s glow?

A lifetime of lies and broken dreams.

So here I go again,
a lifetime of lies and broken dreams
One more wasted opportunity,
one more ego,
one more vaccine
Yet another bloated entitlement portrayed in a positive light
Our world falls apart around us as legislation favours the bike.

Wrong to say I’ll show you
Wrong to say you know
How can you be right
When you’ve completely lost sight
Just another madman
No direction, no plan
Trusted with our future
Sat behind a computer
Manipulating numbers
Into government blunders

Tax them more
Money for furlough
Bombs and war
Bus lanes galore
If you enter, you’re breaking the law
the government’s owed
Up the retirement age,
Make more bike lanes and narrow the road

Speeding cameras move a little each day
Find the perfect spot to take your money away
Nothing gets better.
It only gets worse
But not for the idiots making our laws
Are you frustrated
now all the public toilets have closed?
And the council decided to close more roads
These people never had a proper job
They don’t live like you and me
Living off the gravy train,
the money tree
Taxing businesses off the high street
Blame the economy,
Blaming you and me
So I pay to park,
I pay to shop
Now I go online
By post it drops

Too late to say I told you
too late to save the day
I learned when I was young
to be freed by technology
No need to work forever,
no need for sweat and toil
The future’s bright for you, my son.
Now we’ve discovered oil.

I’m losing on the stock market
Inflation hits the roof
They save DNA in the hope to reincarnate
Manipulators of the truth
So scream in silence,
Broken one,
Anticipate remaining poor
Time after time, their twisted smiles
show you to the door
To act the roll in classic style
Mundane thoughts of life
And carve a fortune out of nothing
without a bloody knife
The fools are running paradise.
New souls come and go
Their direction remains
exact, words will overflow
It’s a sad reflection
of the state of our pension
When each year retirement age lengthens
Inflation in double digits
A country run by idiots
ruining your spending power
Money worth less by the hour
The mortgage crisis,
the credit crisis,
the banking crisis
Quantitative easing sent to chastise us
The Wall Street Masters of the Universe
Helping governments
empty your purse
Printing money like its monopoly
Reducing the value of all funds constantly
Cash is becoming less and less
Take your money and put it into assets

There is plenty of blame to go around
The media allow the guilty to go un-shamed
Unrestrained short-term greed with knowledge
Assisted by buttock-based technology
